New farm!

We’ve moved! October saw us saying goodbye to our longtime home and farm outside Lethbridge, and November passed in a blur of settling 49 horses into our new build about a half-hour southwest of Calgary’s Spruce Meadows. There’s lots of reasons for our move but these photos capture some important ones: big pastures, gorgeous well-water, the rolling beauty of the Rocky Mountains’ foothills, and a chance to build the equine group housing that we’ve planned for years.

Inside our new group housing. In this set up, our horses spend winters in small herds, moving freely between indoor spaces (feed aisle grazing, comfortable straw bedding, and shelter from the elements) and outdoor paddocks (room for play and light movement, and views out onto their summer pastures).

It’s a seasonal transformation that happens every year and yet still somehow feels like an overnight surprise.
