2025 keuring: a North American champion and a ster mare

On September 9, we attended Alberta’s 2025 KWPN keuring, one of a series of inspections of KWPN-registry horses held across Canada and the USA each fall.

This year, we’re especially proud of both our three year-old mare Solera KVS and our yearling filly Urocco Blue KVS. The judges noted the elegance of both horses, and awarded a ster predicate to Solera and a first premium to Urocco. Urocco also took high-score at the Alberta keuring.

Internationally, both horses stood out as well. Solera was narrowly pipped from the North American top tens for jumper mares (losing out on tenth place by 1/100th of a point in the third tie-break category) while Uroccco Blue was designated the 2025 North American Champion Jumper Yearling for her scores of 82 (conformation) and 80 (movement).

Our thanks to Valleyfield Farm for again hosting Alberta’s keuring, to the KWPN-NA staff who organize the events every year, and to the judges and handlers who travel from the Netherlands to lend their expertise. And if you have a chance to attend a KWPN-NA keuring down the road, know that it’s a great way to see the best of your region’s Dutch warmblood jumpers, hunters, dressage, gelder or harness horses. Hope to see you there, in 2026.
