Cavalier is an approved KWPN stallion,  formerly ridden under the name San Patrignano Mister at the international level by Franke Sloothaak, under whom he won more than 40 Grand Prix, puissance and speed competitions.  Cavalier is a "keur' stallion, the highest predicate a stallion can receive from the KWPN studbook, and is ranked on the 2019 list of 90% confidence rating KWPN jumping breeding values.  Some of Cavalier's best known offspring include Tinello Isha, ridden by Albert Voorn; Blushing Groom, under John Popely; Illusion under Jörne Sprehe ; FAN Cavala, ridden by Eddie Macken, and Quadrifoglio, ridden by Italian rider Jerry Smit.

Cavalier is by Maykel, also the sire of the Olympic jumper Felix, and out of Wina from the reputable Netherlands Sina family. This excellent breeding family has produced numerous national and international sport horses such as the international showjumpers Piccolino (s. Notaris) under Renéé Tebbel, Maltstriker (s. Abgar xx) under Eric Wauters, Oleandra (s. Farn) under Peter Postelmans and Pierrot (s. Marco Polo) under Emile Hendrix.
